Peer support is extremely important. A peer supporter uses their experience to help the peer move forward toward recovery from mental health or substance use issues. To learn more or to become a peer support specialist, click below.

Does Peer Support Make A Difference? Emerging research shows that peer support is effective for supporting recovery from behavioral health conditions. Benefits of peer support include may include: Increased self-esteem, increased sense of control and ability to bring about changes in their lives, raised empowerment scores, and increased sense that treatment is responsive and inclusive of needs.
